Google Declared Guilty of Misleading Advertising and Deceptive Load

The case is revolving in  court after an appeal by a regulatory agency.  As reported by the Sydney  Morning Herald,  Tuesday (04/03/2012).

Oversight agency, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), lost in federal court against Google on 22 September 2011, with accusations that Google is involved in activities such as misleading or deceiving the public.

These institutions then take legal action against Google in November 2007 and then filed an appeal on October 12, 2011.

In a trial that took place in federal court in Sydney, Judge Peter Jacobson, chief justice Patrick Anthony Keane, and Judge Bruce Thomas Lander, overturn the decision in the court of first instance and provide assurance to the ACCC to make an appeal.

One of the four cases presented, it was revealed between March 2006 and July 2007 it appeared in a search engine specifically for the site but it turned out CarSales that comes up is Honda Australia.

The court also found that contained misleading advertising on Google and the three of them involving the Harvey World, Alpha Dog Training, and Just 4x4 magazine. The judges said Google should implement a compliance program to stop it from happening again and requested that Google pay the ACCC costs.
